Founded in 2020 as a small, family-run organization, Kids Rise Fund was created by the Stohr-Hendricksons, a medical caregiving family, and members of their son's care team to support children with developmental disabilities and complex medical needs, as well as their extended families, school and community networks.

Founders Whitney Stohr and Jason Hendrickson were inspired to launch Kids Rise Fund as a charitable organization following their experience supporting their son Malachi, who was born in 2018 with developmental disabilities requiring extensive medical intervention and treatment.

Now six years old, Malachi is thriving within his community and currently serves as a Youth Member of the Kids Rise Fund Board of Directors, alongside his younger sibling DJ.

Kids Rise Fund continues to work through multiple avenues to promote greater inclusion and opportunities for all kids to achieve their own version of success.
